Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Reemployment Services Division as the State Policy Program Coordinator to assist with delivery of WIOA Title I services to eligible participants.

Here's what you will do:

  • Draft, review, and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Interpret and apply federal legislation to state and local workforce development programs.

  • Facilitate collaboration between the Nebraska Workforce Development Board and agency partners to align strategies for Combined State Plan.

  • Provide board support to the Nebraska Workforce Development Board including scheduling meeting space, drafting agendas and meeting materials, writing minutes, setting up for meetings, and corresponding with board members.

  • Provide guidance and support to local workforce development areas and service providers on policy implementation.

  • Develop and implement trainings to enhance understanding of policies among stakeholders.

  • Review local and regional plans submitted by local workforce development areas for compliance with policy and regulations.

  • Assist with development and submission of WIOA State Plan.

  • Assist with maintenance of the Eligible Training Provider List.

  • Assist with grant agreements, budget plan workbooks, board certication documentation, and one-stop center certication documentation for local areas.

  • Draft and post notices.

Location: NDOL Administration Building, 550 South 16th Street, Lincoln (on-site)

Work Schedule: 8am-5pm; Monday-Friday


Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework/training in: public or business administration, human services, social/behavioral sciences or closely related field OR Three years’ experience in a human services agency, organization, or program with responsibility for program planning and development, employment, job development and/or staff development or in the delivery of employment and/or training services. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services, behavioral sciences, social sciences, public administration, business administration, or related eld. Experience writing policy and providing technical assistance on compliance with laws and regulations.


Other: Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of: principles and techniques to develop policy; state and federal statutes related to employment and training; accessibility standards and formatting options for documents; Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Ability to: communicate with government ofcials, local area administrators, program representatives, and service providers to explain and advocate job training program goals, policies, and plans; learn, interpret and apply federal legislation and state and agency regulations and policies to specic job training issues and decisions; analyze data and develop conclusions from administrative/computer records, budgets, and program evaluations; summarize planning and programming data and options into reports and position papers; develop goals, priorities, plans, policies and performance criteria; write clear policy guidance, reports, and notices; maintain regular and reliable attendance.
