Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Omaha

Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor

Essential Job Functions:

• Inspect and test machinery to ensure proper functioning
• Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear replacing worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts as needed
• Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, and hand tools, or power tools
• Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair
• Operate hoists or other moving or lifting equipment
• Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other preventive maintenance
• Inspect mechanical components to identify problems
• Trouble shoot electrical controls and components and repair as needed

Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required
• 2-3 years of industrial mechanic experience in a food industry environment preferred but not required
• All relevant experience will be considered

Skills/Abilities Required:

• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, work with a variety of hand and power tools and shop machines
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
• Knowledge of manufacturing/packaging equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, labeling equipment and conveyors
• Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly
• Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime and some weekends
